The National Team for the iGeo 2010 in Taipei is


On 20 and 21 November 2009, the Geographical Institute of the University of Münster the national final of the competition "Janus geography bilingual" instead. The successful event, the four winners were selected, the form 2010, the German team for the International Geographic Olympiad (iGeo) in Taiwan. Nine boys and a girl of ten provinces qualified for the federal retiring. They had to write two short exams and to complete a multimedia test.
evening were the participants together with the night watchman of Munster on a city excursion. On Saturday they had the gold medal winner in the last iGeo Carthage Manuel Hein questions. The participants and guests watched films of the last two Olympics from Brisbane and Carthage, which Mr. Werner Wallert turned. This gave the finalists a taste of international competition. Exciting it was at the announcement of the competition results. After the two exams, there was very close spacings in the participating field. The multimedia test that gave a decisive for the ranking of students. Winner of National Finals was Pittrof Benedict from Bavaria. Also on the team iGeo 2010 include Max Rogge (Brandenburg), Marcel Wetegrove (Hamburg) and Yoram Materlik (Mecklenburg-Vorpommern).

have participated Unfortunately students from ten states. We hope that are represented in the next two years, contestants from all 16 states in the final. The national team is prepared for the iGeo in summer 2010. This also includes a training camp in spring 2010. For all activities, which ensured a successful outcome of the contest at the state and federal level, is gratefully acknowledged. This applies to all supervising teachers, all state representatives, the organizing committee of the Geographical Institute of the University of Münster under the direction of Eva Wetterau that iGeo-task team and the jury under the direction by Christoph Zwißler and the Klett Verlag who supported the competition financially.
